On October 2, I attended my neighbor Laura's baby shower. Not many people go to the delivery room these days not knowing the sex of the baby, but Laura and Tom are among those few. So, making a baby quilt destined for a particular sex was impossible.
While browsing equilter.com I found a selection of The Hungry Caterpillar fabric. Eric Carle is the author and has many more wonderful, colorful books.
Laura was lucky enough to receive two other quilts. One is daybed size and perfect colors:
The other was hers when she was a child, embroidered by her aunt--a real treasure:
This little baby will be kept warm with his or her quilts and lots of love.

The caterpillar quilt is just perfect!
LOVE your quilt -- my friend wants to make one for her grandchild, so I sent her a link to this post. This quilt really makes you smile, doesn't it??

I love this story - an excellent choice for a quilt! I can see many hours of story time together all snuggled up in the quilt!
AMAZING!!! What a fabulous quilt! That is one of my all time favorite childrens books. This quilt is so wonderful and full of life! I love the card that you made with the caterpillar and the umbrella showering best wishes. So creative and what a thoughtful gift. I'm sure her family will treasure that forever.
