SAQA Auction donation done!

My donation for the SAQA quilt auction is done--and right on time. The quilts that are in have been posted on SAQA's website. Lots of wonderful artwork. Click here to check  them out.

I was aiming for more contrast than was in my last year's quilt. I was somewhat successful.

Rather than select beads that are the same colors as in the fabric, as I did last year (see below), I tried to pick beads that would stand out. Nevertheless, from across the room, the neon orange beads look as if they are could be of the fabric. But at least you can see them.

I enjoy adding beads to my work. The process, for me, is very calming. I think it all started when I made my daughter Sandy's wedding gown and sat for hours lovingly beading the bodice.It was hard to stop.

I had no idea that this would photograph as badly as it did. It is much nicer in person.

But I certainly achieved contrast in my "Blue Galaxy" quilt:
