Future fiber artist

Having grandchildren is such a joy; and when they delight in you as much as you in them, it's pure heaven. I just returned from a Florida trip to visit my son and his family. Except for 8-year-old Mary's swim meet, it was too hot, humid, and smokey (from all the fires) to be outdoors.

So Mary and I spent our time on a wide range of indoor activities. In addition to a lot of singing and being silly,

We hand-sewed "softies." Mommy made the larger one in fleece.

We knitted. I finished a hat and she finished a Barbie Doll blanket.

We completed several jigsaw puzzles--Henry did not help.

And we made some Sculpy items. I tried to harden them in the garage, it was so hot, but they needed oven baking. I am a complete novice, but tried to make some cute buttons that will go on a future project. The white part is "glow in the dark," which should be interesting.

What a win-win-win moment: you shared your creativity and your time with your granddaughter and EVERYONE benefitted -- including your readers!
