Now I have to sew

Whew! The semester is over. I have only one student who has to turn in an assignment; then I will post the last grade tomorrow.

My Color Theory class final exam was last Thursday. We went to the Yale Art Gallery. Our professor gave us a list of 35 pieces of art, from which we were to choose 10 to write about, of course as it related to what we learned in class.

Student artwork is hung in the gallery and hallways, and a reception was held one evening.
One of these is mine. (I won't say more except one of  my artists was Marc Chagall.) The assignment was to takes elements from two artists' works, combine them in whatever was you wished, and trace it onto your bristol board. Next, you flipped it over and did a mirror image. The first part was to be painted with the colors from our wheel (which we created), the other side with those colors neutralized. The bottles piece contains three students' transparency assignment.

Oh, please tell us which one is yours -- I'm not too familiar with Chagall's work, so I can't tell! They all look pretty neat -- must have been a great class.

Okay. Upper middle. I like it because of its weirdness. If you click on it you may be able to see what I mean. The Marc Chagall painting is called "The Birthday." The other elements are from Francis Picabia's "Hera."

What a great project! And now you'll have more time for sewing.
