Fixing dinner/Making art

I know this isn't new, but it was fun. While making dinner recently, I cut off the end of the celery clump and noticed a most interesting pattern on the cut-off piece. I whipped out the paints that were at hand because of my art class and stamped these celery roses. First I stamped on a plain piece of paper.

Next I stamped over two  mono-prints I made when, at the end of class one day, I had a lot of leftover paint on my disposable palette.

Waste not, want not, as they say. I will probably stamp these last two with text or images. No plans, though. When the spirit moves me...

I am having so much fun with this.

LOVE the red one, Ruth Anne! Every time I cut Romaine lettuce I think of doing this, but never get around to it! Well done...hmmm, maybe dinner making wouldn't seem so humdrum if I kept a pot of textile paint at hend....

What a great idea! I hadn't thought of using celery.

That is the height of creativity -- what a great way to think outside the box!
