Quilters and Vendors and sun: Oh my!

Quadrille Quilting, our local quilt shop, run by the loveliest people, organized a bus trip to the Empire Quilters' quilt show in NYC. The bus dropped us at the door of FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) and picked us up at the same spot. Very easy. It was a beautiful day.

I tried to get the names of the artists in the photos. I hope they are readable.

Not only do you get to see colorful and creative quilts, but the vendor mall is, to use a cliche, to die for. I did my part to make their show successful. I have already started working with the fabric I purchased from Cultured Creations. I also bought some hand-dyed fabrics that appeared to be made specifically for a project that I had just last week thought of while taking pictures of Flat Mary on some rocks on the beach. I have some new paints, too, that will have to wait to be opened until my semester is over. The wait will be difficult.

After lunch at a great Thai restaurant, my friend Barb and I went to City Quilts--my first visit. I was shopped out and it ws very crowded. But it's a great shop that I will visit on my next trip to the Big Apple.

What fun! You're so lucky to live as close as you do to the city -- if I were there, I'd probably make a monthly trip to City Quilter. It truly IS a great store.
