Flat Mary attends Double Take opening

My granddaughter Mary just read the story about Flat Stanley in her Florida second-grade class. It seems most second-graders read this. They then send a Flat Stanley they create to friends and relatives around the country and the world. Well, my poor granddaughter got flattened herself when a bookcase fell on her, and she sent herself to me in an envelope. Flat Mary has played in the snow, sat on the beach, gone to church, and had her teeth looked at by my dentist. She also attended the opening of Double Take: Photo and Fiber, an exhibit of floral photographs by Rose Alpert that have been interpreted by the members of Sisters in Cloth.

Here Flat Mary is admiring my 8"x8" detail quilt.

Click here to visit the Sisters blog and watch a video of the opening, including the names of the artists. Here are just a a few still photos from the exhibit:

And there was food, generously provided by our exhibition hosts at the Haskins gallery.

Thanks, Ruth Anne...I'm looking for pics of the exhibit. I wish I had been able to be there to see others' reactions.
