Double Take: Photo and Fiber at Yale's Haskins Laboratory

Sisters in Cloth has collaborated with photographer Rose Alpert to come up with an exhibit of quilts inspired by over a dozen of Rose's beautiful photographs of flowers. The flowers range from roses to tiger lilies to lily pads. My choice of photo was a beautiful violet and white iris.

The quilts are 18" x 24", but we challenged ourselves to do an 8-inch square piece of a detail from the photograph.

These are all to be framed in the same style frame, which should make an excellent visual exhibit. Rose's photos will will be part of the exhibit.

The exhibit opens February 1.

Check out Martha Wolfe's and Diane Wright's blogs for pictures of their quilts that will be on display.

Ruth Anne, this is lovely. The colors just draw you into the image -- it's mesmerizing.
